Library Policies
Boone County Public Library Photo/Video/Recording Policy - Customers can take photos/videos/recordings in the Library because it is a public building. Photos must not intrude upon or invade the privacy of the people using the Library. Photo, video and recording of library users without the individuals express consent is not permitted. If customers want to set-up a formal photo session, or if a local news organization wants to take pictures, they need to talk to the branch manager or the public relations coordinator first.
Our new book sale room, Buy the Book, is open and located on the 1st floor of Main Library. So browse the books, magazines, and videos whenever the Library is open!
Books in other languages
Main Library, Scheben, and Florence Branches have books and audiobooks for children and adults in Spanish, and some in Japanese.
Computer Printing
Black and white prints cost $0.25 per page. Color prints cost $0.50 per page. You may also save to personal flash drives. The Library sells 16 GB flash drives at all branches for $5.00.
Copiers
Black and white copies cost $0.25 per page. Color copies cost $0.50 per page. You may scan to email free of charge.
Subject to staff availability, the Library offers notary service free of charge at each branch except Chapin Memorial. Call or visit the branch near you to schedule an appointment with a notary. However, the Library notaries reserve the right to refuse notarizing documents for ANY reason.
Bring the completed but unsigned legal document to your appointment.
All documents must be in English.
Everyone who signs must bring valid ID, which includes:
State-issued driver's licenses and ID cards
Military IDs
Passports
Witnesses may not be solicited among Library patrons or staff.
