Library Policies
Boone County Public Library Photo/Video/Recording Policy
Photos, videos, and recordings may be taken in the Library.
Photos, videos, and recordings must not intrude upon or invade the privacy of other people.
Photos, videos, and recordings of Library users without their express consent is not permitted.
Individuals and local news organizations must talk to the Branch Manager or the Library's Public Relations and Marketing Director before formal sessions.
Our book sale room, Buy the Book, is open and located on the 1st floor of Main Library. So browse the books, magazines, and videos whenever the Library is open!
Books in other languages
Main Library, Scheben, and Florence Branches have books and audiobooks for children and adults in Spanish, and some in Japanese.
Computer Printing
Black and white prints cost $0.25 per page. Color prints cost $0.50 per page. You may also save to personal flash drives. The Library sells 16 GB flash drives at all branches for $5.00.
Copiers
Black and white copies cost $0.25 per page. Color copies cost $0.50 per page. You may scan to email free of charge.
Donations
♦ All Library locations will accept as many as 5 non-returnable containers of books and media that are clean and in good condition. ♦ Larger donations, or donations in returnable containers, are by appointment only to the Main Library. Call x8118 to schedule an appointment. ♦ Donations of 25 or fewer, loose items may be made in the bookdrop by the entrance to Buy the Book in Main Library.
Subject to staff availability, the Library offers notary service free of charge at each branch except Chapin Memorial and Scheben Branch for the time being. Call or visit the branch near you to schedule an appointment with a notary. However, the Library notaries reserve the right to refuse notarizing documents for ANY reason.
Bring the completed but unsigned legal document to your appointment.
All documents must be in English.
Everyone who signs must bring valid ID, which includes:
State-issued driver's licenses and ID cards
Military IDs
Passports
Witnesses may not be solicited among Library patrons or staff.
