The AR program encourages reading and tests comprehension. If your child attends a school that uses the AR program, you can use the AR Bookfinder website to find books with associated levels and tests.
The Lexile Framework for Reading
The Lexile Framework is a scientific way to match readers with books that are at the correct level for their reading ability. If a teacher has requested that your child read books at their Lexile level, you can use the Lexile Find a Book website to find appropriate books.
Kentucky Libraries Unbound - Just for Kids!
Use your library card to check out free eBooks and eAudiobooks for kids! Items check out for three weeks and can be read on a phone, tablet, e-reader, or computer. Visit the Kentucky Libraries Unbound - Kids site or install the Libby App from your device’s app store.

Book Bundles for Your Family
Boone County Public Library can bundle a selection of books for your family to enjoy. Bundles can include up to 10 books and are limited to one bundle per family per week. Click the link to fill out a Book Bundle Request form.

Boone County Educator Services
We are happy to give tours, storytimes, or check-out books to your class. Complete the Class Visit Request Form, and we will contact you when we process your request. (Please pick-up library card applications in advance for children who do not have one.)
Complete an Educator Collection Request Form, and we will pull material for your in-class project or program. This service is for educators in Boone County.
Eligibility: Homeschool educators who reside in Boone County and teachers employed by a public or private, K-12, Boone County school. Independent preschool/childcare teachers are not eligible but may contact outreach@bcpl.org for service options. Visit our Library Cards page for more detail about Educator Cards.
During the school year we offer homeschool programs at the Main Library in Burlington on the first Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. For more information check out our Homeschool page or call 342-2665 x8120.
